| 03/03/26 Lawyers, Guns, and Marijuana On this edition of Century: Lawyers, Guns, and Marijuana. The Supreme Court is currently considering the case of US v. Hemani. Ali Danial Hemani is a Texas man who was arrested by the F-B-I in 2022 for possession of about two ounces of marijuana, about four grams of cocaine, and a handgun. Federal law prohibits people who are addicted to, or habitual users of, illegal drugs from possessing firearms. The question before the Court is whether in this case that law violates the Second Amendment of the Constitution regarding the right to bear arms. The Court heard oral arguments on the Hemani case on March 2. Audio file
